John Clarke and his wife: Jubilee Pool - saved!

Retired architect John Clarke formed the Jubilee Pool Committee, which later became the Friends of Jubilee Pool, and spent many years working tirelessly to ensure the pool survived. Largely due to this work, in 1993, a time when many lidos across the UK were being permanently closed, the pool was awarded Grade II listing by Historic England.
