The old baths within the Café Marina
This image shows the interior of the old baths within the Café Marina, which stood on the Newlyn end of Penzance Promenade. On the right stands Omar Pascoe whose job at the baths included letting in fresh sea water when the tides were right. His son, also Omar Pascoe, was a stonemason who worked on St Anthony's Gardens, next to Jubilee Pool, and his great-granddaughter, Wendy Hosken, has been a keen swimmer all her life.
