Professor Richard Hicks

Professor Richard Hicks, 1858-1945, was a Victorian Champion Swimmer who achieved national recognition as a long distance swimmer. He acted as the Penzance Swimming Master for 22 years and during his life saved 36 people from drowning. His motto was “Everyone should learn to swim”.
