I had swimming lessons at the pool in possibly 1965/6/7 can’t remember exactly. But he had a daughter who swam from Penzance to Mousehole I was so impressed.
I used to swim in the Coliseum lido in St Austell during the summer months and the Bodmin swimming pool on the industrial estate in Bodman during the winter. This was from about 1972-3. We had swimming galas at Jubilee pool, Trewan hall,St Colomb Major. Went to Devon and Dorset, most swimming pools were outdoor pools. We also used the swimming pool in Truro in the old boys school. I enjoyed swimming in the Penzance and St Austell pools. I used to swim with and against. Tina Searle, Julie Rodgers, Jenny Pasco and Julia Rescorla- Ryan ( RIP ), Elizibeth Glover. A lot of good and happy memories from all swimming pools.

I remember swimming in a gala or something to do with school. Just kept getting tangled in the ropes in the mid 50s. Always something going on there. I remember it was always busy

He was there when my friends and I started going to the Pool in 1955. Just how I remember him.
